The three most talked-about openings in Westlake Village all come from teams with long local roots, and each one is aimed at people who already live inside the 91361 and 91362 zip codes rather than at drivers passing through on the 101. Read the addresses in order and a thesis emerges: the village is doubling down on being a place where residents stay in for the evening.
That thesis matters if you own a home here, because it shapes what your Friday nights actually look like this July and August. Below is the field guide, organized by what changed, where, and why the specific operator matters.
The Landing, And What Yār Signals
Zin Bistro Americana closed at the end of 2025 for a remodel, and the same ownership team is reopening the lakeside space at 32131 Lindero Canyon Road, Suite 111 under a new name: Yār on the Lake, announced in February 2026, taking over the former Zin Bistro Americana space at The Landing. Yār means "friend" in Persian and is aiming to bring a Mediterranean communal dining experience to Westlake Village.
Two details separate this from a routine rebrand. First, it is the same operators, which means the lakeside patio, the parking flow, and the reservation rhythm residents already know will carry over. Second, the family's framing is explicit about tenure. "Our family has called Westlake Village home for over 40 years, with this lake as the backdrop to our most meaningful moments," the announcement stated. "Yār is our way of giving back, rooted in Mediterranean communal dining and the Persian belief that hospitality is sacred."
For anyone tracking what The Landing feels like on a Saturday night, this is the most consequential change at the lake in a decade. Coin & Candor at the Four Seasons and ONYX still anchor the water-view tier, but Yār replaces the one seat at the table that had gone dark.
The Other Openings, In Addresses
The rest of the summer 2026 slate is spread across three shopping centers residents already visit weekly. Ordered by proximity to the lake:
CAVA — Westlake Plaza and Center. Mediterranean fast-casual chain Cava opened in Westlake Village in May 2026. The restaurant is located at Westlake Plaza and Center at Westlake Boulevard and Agoura Road, just south of the 101 Freeway. It is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The relevant detail for residents is the 10 p.m. close: it is one of the few counter-service options south of the freeway serving past 9.
La Gita Kitchen and Focacceria — County Line Shopping Center. La Gita Kitchen and Focacceria is coming to the County Line Shopping Center at 4619 Lakeview Canyon Road in Westlake Village, taking over the former StretchCoast space. The takeout and catering kitchen will offer freshly baked focaccia, sandwiches, salads, and charbroiled chicken, with wine and beer available for offsite consumption following City Council approval on April 22. The operators are worth naming. La Gita is co-owned by local resident Kyle Lopez, who worked at Stonefire Grill from 2008 to 2020 and served as its Chief Operating Officer. His mother and co‑owner, Mary Harrigan, co‑founded Stonefire Grill in 2000. Stonefire was sold in 2016, and now the family is bringing this promising new takeout concept to Westlake Village. Kyle indicated that La Gita is targeting a late‑2026 grand opening.
Marco's Pizza — Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Lake Lindero. Marco's Pizza is coming to the space formerly occupied by Ma Dukes Artisan Pizzas at 30651 Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Lake Lindero, a few doors down from Cookie Cafe. There are other Marco's Pizza locations in Simi Valley and Oxnard. This one is a chain, but it fills a slot that had been quietly empty on the Lake Lindero corner.
Three of the four are Mediterranean in some form. That is not a coincidence of the news cycle. Yār, CAVA, and La Gita are all reading the same demographic and betting on the same plate.
Free Fridays, Free Saturdays
The city's own programming underlines the residents-stay-in thesis. Two free concert series run through the summer, on two consecutive nights, at two different addresses.
TGIF Concerts in the Courtyard take place at City Hall, 31200 Oak Crest Drive. Saturdays in the Park run at Berniece Bennett Park, 31800 Village Center Road. All Saturdays in the Park Concerts begin at 7:00pm. Food Trucks open for service beginning at 6:00pm. All attendees are welcome to pack their own picnic dinner and are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs to the park. No chairs or tables will be provided.
The 2026 slate reads more like a curated tribute festival than a small-town summer bill. Highlights include Saturday, June 6th: Stone Soul, Motown Dance Party, and Saturday, July 25th: Tom Petty/Stevie Nicks Tribute. July 26 brings Rebel Heart (Modern Country Hits), with line dancing at the stage with Candy Sherwin starting at 6:30pm and the band performing at 7pm. For scale, a regional tracker listed a total of 38 outdoor concerts around the Conejo Valley for 2026, compared to 68 the previous year. The Westlake Village portion of that shrunken regional field is, per capita, one of the more concentrated slates in the valley.
The practical read: block off Friday for the courtyard series at City Hall, Saturday for Berniece Bennett Park, and you can plan almost every summer weekend without leaving a two-mile radius.
What The Lake And The Park Have In Common
Both openings and programming keep pointing to the same idea. The lake has a new operator whose entire pitch is that they have lived here 40 years. City Hall's courtyard has 7 p.m. shows with $0 tickets. The County Line center is welcoming back a Stonefire family that spent a decade quietly running the region's most successful casual restaurant. Even the Marco's Pizza slot fills a corner that residents pass on their way home rather than one aimed at drive-by traffic from the freeway.
That is different from what has been happening one exit east and one exit west. Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills have added more national chains and more highway-oriented concepts in the same window. Westlake Village's openings look almost curated by comparison, which is what happens when the tenant pool skews toward operators with local biographies and when a City Council approval, as with La Gita on April 22, is part of the timeline.
The Regulars, For Newcomers
If you have moved to Westlake Village within the last twelve months and want a shortcut to the existing lineup that the new openings are being measured against, the shortlist is small and consistent. Restaurants in Westlake Village with a great view include Coin & Candor, ONYX and WeVINO Restaurant. Crawford's Social is a unique, social gathering place in the heart of Westlake Village. Created by local residents, Crawford's Social offers guests expertly crafted cocktails, boutique wines and locally brewed beers, along with an inventive, California-inspired shareable menu, housed in a stunning, lounge-like, indoor-outdoor environment. Paul Martin's American Grill is located in the Promenade of Westlake and serves classic American fare.
The Westlake Village Inn has also opened Louie's, an outdoor lounge and club with panoramic views of the lake and the adjacent golf course. If Yār is the summer's most-anticipated table, Louie's is the summer's most-anticipated bar seat on the same body of water.
Two Dates To Circle
Two anchor events sit outside the concert calendar and are worth putting on the fridge now.
The Promenade at Westlake's holiday programming will not begin until late November, but the tenant lineup for its 2025 tree lighting is a preview of who residents can expect to find operating in the same corner this summer. The event included seasonal samplings from nearby dining favorites including Neighborly, Superba Food + Bread, Fogo de Chão and Shake Shack, among others, and dining offers from retailers and restaurants like Roche Bobois, Sephora, Red O, Bacio di Latte and more. That is essentially the current tenant roster of the Promenade, and it is stable heading into summer.
At the Hyatt Regency Westlake, Senior Concerns is holding its 38th Annual Ultimate Dining Experience, a fundraising gala with tastings under the tent, dinner and dancing in the ballroom, and cuisine from local restaurants, wineries, breweries, and distilleries. It is one of the clearest annual snapshots of who is actually cooking in this zip code in any given year.
The Read, In One Line
The through-line for summer 2026 is not novelty, it is continuity with new names. Yār is the same team as Zin. La Gita is the family behind Stonefire. The concert series is the city's own, in its own courtyard and its own park. Even CAVA, the one national brand in the mix, opened in a plaza residents were already using.
